Osogbo, Jan. 27, 2023 – Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, said he rejected the judgment of the Osun election tribunal which sacked him from office on Friday.

The Osun Election Petition Tribunal, chaired by Justice Tertse Kume, sacked Adeleke as Osun Governor for established cases ofover voting.

Adeleke, in a statement by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, described the judgment as ” a miscarriage of justice”  and said he would challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.

He faulted the resolution of the over-voting question in favour of  Adegboyega Oyetola as ””unfair interpretation against the will of majority of voters”.

Adeleke urged his supporters to remain calm, insisting he remains the rightful winner of the July 16, 2022 election.

“I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate.” (GBN)
