Ilorin, March 16, 2025 – The Kwara State Government has revoked all the 2024 signage and billboard licenses in the state.
Ibrahim Garba, the Secretary of the State Committee on Illegal Billboards and Signages, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
He said the removal of the affected billboards would commence next week.
Garba said the move was to clear unauthorised and improperly erected billboards, posters, and light pole banners, particularly in Ilorin and other urban areas.
The statement reads: “The initiative aligns with the Urban Renewal Programme of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration, aimed at transforming Kwara into a modern and visually appealing state.
“No new registrations or renewals of signages and billboard licences will be processed until further notice.
“This temporary measure will allow the state to finalise a new regulatory framework for outdoor advertising.”
