Abuja, Sept. 26, 2024 – The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) says the recent commendation by the African Development Bank (AfDB) indicates that the economic reforms of President Tinubu are headed in the right direction.
The group made the observation in a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Sunday Shedrach Gyungoun.
It said the position of the AfDB Director General for Nigeria, Abdul Kamara, is an affirmation of Tinubu administration’s capacity to tackle the country’s economic challenges.
“Listening to the AfDB Director General for Nigeria Abdul Kamara, we are more than convinced that the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu are necessary to reposition the country.
” And based on the calibre and the source from where the commendation emerged from, we urge more Nigerians to see it as a vote of confident on the direction the economy is heading under the current administration.
“It is an indication that the international financial community is already taking an interest in the economic reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration and the possibilities.
” It is also pertinent that since AfDB is at the centre of economic activities in Africa and having evaluated the economic reforms of the administration so positively, the commendation delivered by its Nigerian office is worth relying upon.
“We have no doubt that AfDB is in a good position to evaluate the state of the economy against the backdrop of information available to it as Africa’s premier financial body.
“Similarly, to further show confidence in the Nigerian economy under President Tinubu, the Coca-Cola Company has pledged an investment of one billion dollars in the next five years.
“This huge investment is, for us, a clear demonstration that the policies being executed by the federal government are resonating well with major global players, including Coca-Cola.
“From the foregoing, we agree with AfDB and can confidently say on that basis that the administration of President Tinubu is on the right track to repositioning the economy.
“We believe that the government’s economic reforms are not only on the right track but will also go a long way to tackling the country’s economic challenge,” it added.
TMV also urged Nigerians remain patient and continue to render support for the Tinubu administration as it continues to push through its economic reforms, (GBN)
