Abuja, April 27, 2024 – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has received the refund of $760,000 paid as school fees by Yahaya Bello, a former Kogi State Governor, to American International School, Abuja, for his children.
Dele Oyewale, the EFCC Spokesperson, confirmed the development in Abuja.
“The school has refunded the entire $ 760, 000 to the EFCC’s recovery account,” he said.
The school had promised to refund the money and had requested the EFCC to provide bank details for the refund of fees allegedly paid for the children of the former governor.
The EFCC has accused Bello of illegally withdrawing the money from the Kogi State government’s accounts to pay his children’s school fees. (GBN)
