Ibadan, Jan. 17, 2024 – More than 20 houses were affected by the explosion which rocked Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Tuesday night.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said this in a statement on Wednesday.
It alleged that the explosion was caused by improvised explosive devices, but said it could not ascertain the number of casualties.
“Over 20 houses were affected. Casualty figures cannot be ascertained for now. Search and rescue operation is still ongoing,” it said.
NEMA said security had been beefed up in the area, while arrangements for more support were in progress.
“The situation has been brought under control, while arrangements are going on to ensure smooth operation.” (GBN)
