Abuja, Jan. 8, 2022- The Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) on Monday announced that Globacom customers might not be able to make calls to MTN lines due to default in payment of interconnect charges.
The NCC announced this through a public notice signed by Reuben Muoka, its Director of Public Affairs.
The commission said it had given its partial consent for Globacom to be cut off from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc.
“Globacom was notified of the application made by MTN and was given the opportunity to comment and state its case.
“The commission, having examined the application and circumstances surrounding the indebtedness, determined that Globacom does not have sufficient or justifiable reason for non-payment of the interconnect charges.”
The NCC said subscribers of Globacom would no longer be able to make calls to MTN, but would be able to receive calls after 10 days of this public notice. (GBN)
