Warri, Dec. 30, 2024 – The Warri Refinery has commenced production on Monday.

The 125,000-barrel-per-day refinery commenced operation at its Area one plant with the production of aviation fuel, kerosene, LPG and heavy Naphtha.

Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), announced this during a tour of the facility on Monday along with Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

He said the tour was to show Nigerians the level of work completed so far, adding that the facility was not yet 100 per cent complete.

“We are taking you through our plant. This plant is running. Although it is not 100 per cent complete, we are still in the process.

“Many people think these things are not real. They think real things are not possible in this country. We want you to see that this is real,” Kyari said. (GBN)
