Consumers will be better protected in 2023 – agency

Lagos, Jan. 13, 2023 – Babatunde Irukera, the Chief Executive of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC),  says operators in the power, manufacturing and digital sectors will experience stricter regulations in 2023. Irukera said in Lagos on Thursday that the FCCPC, in 2022, started more investigation and scrutiny of the power sector, fast moving consumer goods and the activities of digital lenders which had unraveled some irregularities that have laid foundation for the areas to focus on in 2023. INEC registers 93.5m voters for 2023 elections

Abuja, Jan. 11, 2023 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registered 93, 469,008 voters for the 2023 polls. A breakdown indicates men constitute 52.5 per cent, while women make up 47.5 per cent of the total figure. This in shown by the final list of registered voters released to political parties by the electoral body on Wednesday at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja. Lagos tops the list with 7,060,195 voters followed by Kano with 5,921,370. (GBN)
