Owerri, Dec. 23, 2022 – Seven officers in Imo Police Command were dismissed on Thursday over alleged corrupt practices. Mohammed Barde, the state Commissioner of Police, said the officers were arrested in a bank at Umuahia, the Abia State capital, on illegal duty outside their jurisdiction. Abuja, Dec. 23, 2023 – Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, says all employers of labour in the country are bound to comply with the Minimum Wage Act by paying the N30,000 minimum wage. Ibadan, Dec. 22, 2022 – The Oyo State Police Command on Thursday said it had arrested five suspected kidnappers terrorising travellers along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The command listed the arrested suspects as Mohammadu Salfa, Usman Hassan, Muhammadu Salfa, Muhammadu Bello and Mikailu Yahaya It said cash amounting to N7.5 million was recovered from the suspects along with four AK-47 rifles, 75 AK-47 live ammunition, two pairs of military camouflage and one police. Abuja, Dec. 22, 2022 – A Federal Capital Territory High Court has ordered the interim forfeiture of assets recovered from Ahmed Idris, a former Accountant General of the Federation, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.   Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson, in  statement on Wednesday, said Justice M.A Hassan gave the order on Tuesday while ruling on a motion exparte marked M/1149/2022 and filed by the commission.
