Lagos, July 19, 2024 -The naira appreciated significantly at the official and unofficial segments of the foreign exchange market on Thursday. At the official Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), the currency appreciated to N1566.92 against the dollar on Thursday from N1581.65 on Wednesday. CBN resumes sale of dollars to BDCs

Abuja, July 18, 2024 -The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Thursday announced the resumption of sale of dollar to Bureau de Change (BDC) operators. It announced this in a circular issued to all Bureau De Change operators and the general public. The apex bank said the move is aimed at achieving a more stable exchange rate for the Naira. South African rand extends losses on concerns over unity government obstacles

Johannesburg, July 2, 2024 – The South African rand extended losses early on Tuesday on concerns over future challenges for the government of national unity (GNU) and after trading turbulently on Monday following the announcement of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet. Naira appreciates at official, parallel markets

Lagos, Feb. 27, 2024 – The Nigerian currency, naira, appreciated by 5.2 % to the dollar at the official and parallel market on Monday. The currency was traded at N1,582.94 to the dollar on Monday at the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM) from the N1594.27 which was traded on Friday.
