Abuja, May 27, 2025 – President Bola Tinubu has written to the National Assembly seeking approval to secure $21.5 million and ¥15 billion external loans as part of the proposed 2025–2026 external borrowing plan.
The request also consists of €65 million grant as part of the external borrowing plan.
Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, read the letter on Tuesday during the plenary.
The president said the funds would be used to boost food security, poverty reduction, employment generation and skill acquisition, amongst others.
