Abuja, Feb. 15, 2024 – President Bola Tinubu is holding an emergency meeting with state governors at the State House, Abuja.

Others in attendance are the Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike; and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not made available to the press, there are indications that the meeting will centre on the degenerating economic situation in the country and the attendant tension as well as the security implications.

Tinubu is already attending to some of the issues, but time is of essence.

He had directed the Special Presidential Committee on Emergency release 102,000 metric tons of assorted items including rice, maize and millet, among others.

Some states have also taken immediate actions to address food shortages and other remedial actions.

Ogun State government, on Wednesday, announced a N5 billion intervention programme for residents of the state. (GBN)
