He joined other leaders in condemning the attack on Trump through his X handle.
According to a statement he personally signed on Sunday, Tinubu said the attack on Trump was distasteful and was beyond the pale of democratic norms
The Nigerian leader said that violence had no place in democracy and wished the former US President a quick recovery
Trump survived an assassination attempt at a political rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified a 20-year-old Thomas Crooks as the man who fired the multiple gunshots, killing one, while two others sustained injuries.
The Secret Service said the shooter committed the act from “an elevated position outside the rally” before being “neutralised” by agents.
