Lagos March 4, 2024 – Workers In South West have demanded N794,000 as the new national minimum wage.
The South West Branch of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) made the demand during its presentation at the public hearing of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage in Lagos on Thursday.
The labour union, through the chairperson of the Lagos State chapter of the NLC, Funmi Sessi, said that the demand was jointly agreed on by all the members of the union in the South West.
The federal Government inaugurated the 37-member committee on the new minimum wage in Abuja on Jan. 30.
The committee is holding public hearings in the six geopolitical zones of the country today, March 7. (GBN)
