Abuja, Feb. 21, 2024 – The Senate has advised the Federal Government not to remove electricity subsidy in view of the current economic hardship in the country.
The Senate adopted the resolution on Wednesday following of the consideration of a motion moved by Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central (PDP).
The federal government, had last week, said it was finding it difficult to sustain subsidy on electricity.
 Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, said that the government was owing over $1.3 billion to gas companies. (GBN)
