Madein, new AGF, assumes office with warning for zero tolerance for corruption

Abuja, May 26, 3023 – Dr Sakirat Madein, the new Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), assumed duty on Friday with a warning to her colleagues that she would not tolerate corruption.

Madein gave the warning for zero corruption during the handing over ceremony in Abuja on Friday.

She expressed regret that the treasury had suffered some turmoil in the recent past and promised that the treasury would, henceforth, move from strength to strength. 

“We should be guided by zero tolerance to corruption and be dedicated to service and how to generate revenue for the federal government” she told the gathering.

She said she w pay particular attention to training, staff welfare and capacity building as well as “strive to fully digitize treasury activities, especially the Integrated Payroll and Personnel information system (IPPIS) and Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).

“Our operations will be in conformity with extant laws and regulations so that when next they talk about Treasury House it will be for good,” she said  (GBN).
