New naira notes begin circulation
Lagos, Dec, 15, 2022 – The newly redesigned bank notes will start circulating form today. They are in N200, N500 and N1000 denominations. Mr Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of CBN, had in October, announced that apex bank would release the newly re-designed naira notes by December 15, 2022, while the old notes would cease to be legal tender by January 31, 2023. Nigeria re-emerges as largest oil producer in Africa
Lagos, Dec. 15, 2022 (Proshare/GBN) – Nigeria has regained its position as the largest crude oil producer in Africa, producing 1.186mb/d ahead of Algeria’s 1.021mb/d and Angola’s 1.088mb/d in November 2022. According to the December 2022 Monthly Oil Market Report (MOMR) of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Nigeria’s oil output increased by 171,000 b/d from 1.014mb/d in October to 1.186mb/d in Nov 2022. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday alleged that politicians have been making efforts to manufacture the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to enable them hack into the commission’s server during the general elections in 2023. Abuja, Dec. 14, 2022 (Reuters/GBN) – Nigeria has no plans to issue Eurobonds in 2023 unless market conditions improve as bond prices are too high for African countries, Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed said on Wednesday. Lagos anticipates N1.2bn revenue from agriculture in 2022
The Lagos State government says it is anticipating revenue of N1.2 billion from agriculture in 2022. MMIA Customs Command recorded N1.9bn revenue in November – controller
Lagos, Dec.14, 2024 – The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Lagos recorded N1.9 billion revenue in November, 2022.
