Minna, March 10, 2024 – Niger State Government has renamed Dr Abubakar Imam International Airport in Minna as Bola Ahmed International Airport.

The upgraded airport will be inaugurated by President Tinubu on Monday.

Dr Isah Adamu, the Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Governance and Reform, disclosed this on Sunday in Minna.

He said the inauguration of the airport would be part of activities of the president during his visit to the state on Monday.

Binta Mamman, the state Commissioner of Information, said that the airport, which was originally a federal government initiative, faced some delays which prompted the current government to expedite completion after consultation with relevant authorities.

“The terminal is now ready for commissioning, offering an alternative to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,  given the state’s proximity to the nation’s capital.”

The commissioner said the president would also inaugurate various categories of agricultural mechanized equipment procured by the current government.  (GBN)
