Naira Abuse: EFCC, Cubana to settle out of court

Abuja, May 2, 2024- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Cubana Chief Priest, are exploring out-of-court settlement have agreed on the naira abuse charge preferred against him,

This was announced at the resumption of proceedings on Thursday.

The defence counsel informed the court that the parties were exploring out-of-court settlement and have applied the matter be settled pursuant to the provisions of section 14(2) of the EFCC Act.

Cubana was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos on three-count charge bordering on abuse of naira, spraying and tampering with the naira at Eko Hotel on Feb. 13, 2024, contrary to the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The court granted him N10m bail with two sureties in like sum.    (GBN)
