Kano, Jan. 8, 2025 – Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state on Wednesday lost an aide barely 24 hours after he was appointed.
Ahmad Bunkure was sworn-in as Special Adviser on Works on Tuesday, but died on Wednesday in Egypt.
His death was announced on Wednesday through a statement by Sunusi DawakinTofa, the governor’s Spokesperson,
The governor described Bunkure’s death as a tragic and irreplaceable loss to the state, his family and the wider political community.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said. (GBN)
