INEC to investigate case of fraud in Kogi governorship election

Lokoja, Nov. 11, 2023 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will investigate an allegation of party agents filling result sheets in the ongoing governorship election in Kogi State.

There was an allegation by a concerned citizen through Twitter that some APC agents in Ogori Magongo area in Kogi were filling result sheets even in places where elections had not taken place.

Responding to the allegation, INEC said on its official X handle that an investigation was already underway and the senior officials in the state were monitoring the development.  

“Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State. 

“The Commission views this situation seriously.  

“Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s).

The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly,” INEC said.  (GBN)
