INEC swears-in 9 Resident Electoral Commissioners

Abuja, Dec. 12, 2023 -The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has sworn-in nine new Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) out of the 10 appointed by President Tinubu.

One of them, Etekamba Umoren from Akwa-Ibom State, was not present at the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said Umoren would be sworn-in when the tenure of the Resident Electoral Commissioner from Akwa Ibom State expired in January 2014.

Those sworn-in included Isah Shaka Ehimeakne (Edo State), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola  (Ekiti State) Abubakar Ahmed Ma’aji (Gombe State), Shehu Wahab (Kwara State), and Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi (Lagos State).

Others were Aminu Kasimu Idris (Nasarawa State), Prof. Mohammed Yelwa (Niger State), Dr. Anugbum Onuoha (Rivers State) and Isma’ila Kaura Moyi (Zamfara State). (GBN)
