Abuja, Aug. 22, 2022 – The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an upward review of Nigerian passport fees.
The new fees will take effect on Sept. 1 for those applying from Nigeria, but will not affect those applying from abroad.
The NIS said the price change was done to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport.
DCI Kenneth Udo, the NIS Spokesman announced the new development in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the development was part of the efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian standard passport.
According to the statement, a 32-page passport booklet with a five-year validity which was N35,000, will now be N50,000.
A 64-page passport booklet with 10-year validity previously at N70,000, will now cost N100,000.
Udo expressed regrets about any inconvenience the development may cause prospective applicants.
