Ibadan, March 15, 2024 – As Ibadan indigenes prepare to bury their late Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the kingmakers are already sure of the next king due to the strong succession system rooted in tradition.
Oba Lekan Balogun died on Thursday at 8i.
The king makers are already looking at the Balogun of Ibadan land, Owolabi Olakulehin, as the next in line as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.
Olakulehin hails from Ita Baale in Ibadan North East Local Government and has been within the Olubadan-In-Council for more than 10 years.
Although his real age may be contentious, but he is quite older than the late Oba Lekan Balogun. (GBN)
