Abeokuta, Dec. 12, 2023 – The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of 10 passengers in a ghastly motor accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday morning.
Seven other passengers were injured in the accident.
Florence Okpe, the Spokesperson for the FRSC Command in Ogun State, said the accident, which involved two vehicles, occurred around 5.00 am.
She gave the details of the two vehicles as an ash-colour Toyota Haice bus with number FKY898YF, and an Iveco tipper truck in orange colour.
She said a total of 18 male adults were involved in the crash.
Okpe said the accident might have been caused by excessive speeding as the bus lost control and rammed into the tipper that was about negotiating a turning.
“The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital for medical attention, while the dead bodies were deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu,” Okpe said. (GBN)
