First Lady distributes 1,750 bags of rice to less privileged in Oyo State

Ibadan, July 30, 2024 – The First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday distributed 1,750 bags of rice to the less privileged in 33 local government areas of Oyo state as part of her nationwide poverty alleviation programme.

She was assisted in the distribution by Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, the Wife of Oyo State governor.

The First Lady had earlier distributed notebooks to students in public schools in the state.

In her address, she said the package was part of the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Agriculture Support, Education and Social Investment Programme.

 Tinubu said the rice gifts was to ensure that no Nigerian went to bed hungry.

The beneficiaries included widows, orphans, and the elderly.

They expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the kind gesture. (GBN)
