Abuja, Jan. 20, 2024 – The Nigeria Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday paraded 16 suspected criminals who were allegedly terrorising Bwari Area Council and other parts of the country.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Spokesman, who paraded the suspects, said their arrest was in response to the need for enhanced security measures in the FCT.
He said there had been several cases of kidnapping and killings in the FCT, especially in the Bwari council area.
Adejobi said the launch of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) by the Inspector–General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, made their arrest possible.
He said the police would not relent in the fight against crimes and criminality in the country.
Adejobi said ammunition of all kinds and other valuables were recovered during their arrest.
Also, a suspected notorious Abuja kidnapper, Chinaza Phillip, was one of those paraded by the police.
Phillip was arrested by police operatives in Kaduna State on Thursday and handed over to the Police Command in FCT on Friday. (GBN)
