Yola, April 18, 2023 There are unconfirmed reports that INEC has resumed the collation of results of the Adamawa Supplementary Election.
This is contrary to a statement issued by the INEC headquarter on Tuesday that the collation of the results had been suspended indefinitely until the INEC Administrative Office in Adamawa would be ready.
Reports said the collation centre re-opened on Tuesday with heavy security presence at the Yola venue.
Adamu Gujungu, the INEC Administrative Secretary in the state, who has been mandated to take charge of the collation center, was seen in charge of the affairs.
Results from the remaining 10 local government areas are expected to be announced and a winner declared.
The PDP, had earlier on Tuesday, called on INEC to immediately declare the winner of the polls to forestall a breakdown of law and order in the state.
The collation of the result was suspended following illegal declaration of the results by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari, on Sunday.
INEC headquarters in Abuja denounced Ari’s action and called for the suspension of the collation exercise. (GBN)
