Akure, Dec. 12, 2023 – The Ondo State House of Assembly has been directed by President Bola Tinubu to transmit executive power to Lucky Aiyedatiwa to act as Acting Governor of the state.
Authoritative sources in the state said that this was the main decision arrived on Monday during a meeting of the president with the assembly leaders and some other stakeholders of the state.
Tinubu directed that the transfer of power should be done by electronic signature (e-signature) as the ailing governor is too weak to sign any document.
He also directed that there should be no conditions attached to the transfer of power to conform with the “Doctrine of Necessity.”
Some members of the assembly and stakeholders at the meeting included the Speaker, Oladunni Odu, and Majority Leader, Hon. Gbegudu.
Others were Jimoh Ibrahim, Niyi Adegbonmire, Ade Adetimehin and Babajide Akeredolu. (GBN)
