Kaduna, Dec. 6, 2023 – Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, on Wednesday advised the Nigerian military not to be deterred by the Sunday night bombing mishap in Kaduna State.
He said rather, they should continue their strikes against insurgency.
A number of villagers died on Sunday night when some bombs from the Nigerian Army hit villagers of Tudun Biri in Kaduna State as they were celebrating the Maulud, an Islamic ceremony.
The minister, who visited some of the victims of the incident at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna on Wednesday, said the fight against insurgency and terrorism must continue.
“We are not going to relent in our fight against terrorism because these criminals must be defeated. We are going to continue fighting the criminals till we succeed against banditry and other criminalities in this country.”
A statement by the Director of Information, Henshaw Ogubike, said the minister, who was accompanied by top officials of the ministry, expressed Federal Governments’ condolences to the victims of the incident.
He said President Bola Tinubu had directed that he lead a high-level delegation to pay a condolence visit to the good people and government of Kaduna State, as well as the families of the victims over the sad event. (GBN)
