Abuja, Nov. 24, 2023 – The Appeal Court in Abuja on Friday affirmed the election of Uba Sani as duly elected Governor of Kaduna State.
Isah Ashiru, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in the state, had gone to the State Election Tribunal to challenge the victory of Sani in the 2023 elections.
The tribunal, in its ruling, nullified the election of Sani as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
But in its Judgement on Friday, the three-man court of appeal, headed by Justice Daniel Kalio, held that the tribunal erred as it based its decision on inadmissible evidence and hearsay allegations of ballot stuffing.
It, therefore, upheld the election of Sani as Governor of Kaduna State. (GBN)
