140,000 terrorists surrendered across the country – Defence Chief

Abuja, Nov. 21, 2023 – The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, on Tuesday said140,000 terrorists had surrendered across the country and were awaiting disarmament.

He said that there was no territory currently being occupied by Boko Haram insurgents in the country.

Musa said this when he led other Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police to appear before the House of Representatives at the commencement of its sectoral debate.

He alleged that activities of Simon Ekpa, one of the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB were doing a lot of damage to the peace in the Southeast region.

Musa also alleged that Ekpa, who is currently hiding in Finland, was being protected by Finland.

He said there was a need for the government to engage the government of Finland and possibly invite its ambassador to Nigeria. (GBN)
