Bauchi, Nov. 11, 2023 – The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday re-affirmed Gov. Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State.
Immediately after the election, Sadique Abubakar, the Candidate of the All Peoples Congress Peoples (APC), had approached the Bauchi Sate Election Petition Tribunal to challenge the victory of Mohammed.
The Tribunal upheld the electoral victory of Muhammed, but not satisfied with the tribunal’s judgment, Abubakar filed an appeal at the court of appeal challenging the decision of the lower court.
In its judgement on Friday, the Court of Appeal, headed by P. T. Kwahar, also affirmed the victory of Mohammed. (GBN)
