Abuja, Oct. 25, 2023 – The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is seeking partnership with the Federal Ministry of Interior to deliver international passports and other critical documents.
A statement by NIPOST on Wednesday said Miss Tola Odeyemi, the Postmaster General of the Federation, sought the partnership when she paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja.
Odeyemi said the partnership would deepen existing inter-agency collaboration by leveraging NIPOST’s vast network for e-fulfilment services in Nigeria.
She said the partnership would enable NIPOST to put its facilities to good use and reflect some of the positive changes Nigerians had yearned for in NIPOST.
Odeyrmi also said the role of NIPOST was strategic in enhancing security in addition to fulfilling the nation’s quest to grow the digital economy.
In his response, Tunji-Ojo congratulated the postmaster general on her appointment and expressed optimism that she would drive the organisation to greater heights with her expertise.
He said he was committed to seeing to the fulfilment of the collaboration with NIPOST, adding that he was always available for productive strategic partnership.
The minister said and the ministry would continue to explore ways and cultivate collaboration that would help in fulfilling his mandate to Nigerians. (GBN)
