Monrovia (Liberia) , Oct.15, 2023 – With about *73 percent of preliminary results released by the National Elections Commission (NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023.
President George Weah *(CDC)* scored:593,558 vote or 43.80 percent.
Joseph Boakai *(UP)* got:589,977 or 43.54 percent.
Going by provisions of the Liberian constitution, since none of the 20 candidates is likely to score the mandatory 50% + 1 vote required for an outright victory, the two frontrunners are expected to slug it out in a run-off vote on the second Tuesday after the announcement of the official results of the first round by National Electoral Commission.
