Abuja, Oct. 13, 2023 – President Bola Tinubu has approved the removal of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, announced this on Friday.
Wike who was addressing a press conference in Abuja also said the government had also created FCT Civil Service Commission.
He said the President had also approved the establishment of Woman Affairs secretariat, which would be inaugurated within the next two weeks.
Some experts said these two key actions of government will give more power and freedom to the Minister of FCT.
The withdrawal of the FCTA from the TSA will give more freedom to the minister to use his internally generated revenue as he wants, while the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission will also give the minister more power in the deployment of civil servants in the area. (GBN)
