Lagos, Sept. 19, 2023 – Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer, on Tuesday requested for a coroner’s inquest into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, a musician, popularly called Mohbad.

The musician died in suspicious circumstances in Lagos State on Sept.12, 2023.

Falana made the request through a letter addressed to the Chief Coroner of the High Court of Lagos State in Ikeja through which he expressed deep concern about the tragic death of the musician.

He cited Section 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s Law of 2007 which stipulates that an inquest should be conducted when a coroner becomes aware of a death within their district that results from violent, unnatural, or suspicious circumstances.

Falana said there was urgent need for an investigation into Mohbad’s death.

“We hereby request Your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death in Lagos State, and we are confident that Your Lordship will accede to our request with utmost urgency.” (GBN)
