Lagos, June 18, 2023 – Changpeng Zhao, the Chief Executive Officer of Binance, has denounced Binace operation in Nigeria under a company named “Binance Nigeria Limited” as a scam.
Zhao made the disclaimer in a statement on Sunday through Twitter.
The statement read: “Binance have issued cease & desist notice to the scammer entity “Binance Nigeria Limited”. Don’t believe everything you read in the news.”
Binance is a leading global cryptocurrency trading platform.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria has earlier this month described Binance Nigeria Limited as a fraud and unregistered business organisation in Nigeria.
In a statement, SEC warned Nigerians against any business dealings with the company. (GBN)
