Minna, March 30, 2023 – Senator Kashim Shetima, the Vice President-elect, has described political leaders as beacons of hope to which future administrations must look up to for direction.
The Vice President-elect made the allusion on Thursday when Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State led him on a courtesy visit to residents of the two former Nigerian Heads of State in Minna.
Speaking to journalists during the visit, the Vice President-elect said that the elder statesmen, as stakeholders, had a lot to offer to humanity and the nation.
“Stakeholders are beacon of hope and will continue to tap from their wealth of experience.
“They have a lot to offer the nation and humanity.
“We will continue to reach out to them for their advice, inputs and perspectives on issues confronting us as a nation,” he said.
8 Shetima assured the people of Niger State of a new lease of life in the next administration.
“There is no cause for alarm as the challenges of the state will be adequately addressed,” he said.
Shettima commended the current administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for ensuring relative peace in the state, which he, described as an essential ingredient of development.
Gov. Bello also led the Vice President-elect to pay homage to the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouq Bahago where prayers were offered for the success of Tinunbu/ Shetima administration. (GBN)
