Port Harcourt, Feb. 28, 2023Â – INEC has declared Bola Tinubu, the APC Presidential Candidate, Â the winner of the presidential election in Rivers State.
Prof Charles Adias, the Collation officer, announced the result on Tuesday evening after some disruptions in the afternoon when the collation was suspended.
He said Tinubu scored 231,591 votes from the 23 local government areas of the state to defeat Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, who scored 175,071 votes.
Adias said the two remaining local government areas were presented later, necessitating the completion of the exercise at the state level.
APC won 14 LGAs, Labour Party, five, while the PDP won four. (GBN)
