Gov. Sam Ortom loses Benue Senatorial election

Makurdi, Feb. 27, 2023 – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State lost the Benue North West Senatorial election to Chief Titus Zam of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Zam polled 143,151 votes to defeat Ortom with 106,882 votes, while the Labour Party candidate, Mark Gbilah, polled 51,950 votes.

Zam was a Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The APC has also cleared 10 of the 11 House of Representatives seats in Benue State. (GBN)
