Abuja, Feb. 27, 2023 – All the Senatorial Candidates of APC in Kwara State won the Senatorial election.
Senator Oyelola Ashiru emerged the winner for Kwara South
Prof Ajibola Akanbi, the INEC Returning Officer, made the announcement at the collation centre in Omu Aran.
Akanbi said Ashiru polled 55,966 votes, while Senator Rafiu Ibrahim of PDP scored 34,950.
Prof Wale Suleiman of SDP polled 2,4215 to come third.
Alhaji Umar Sadiq was declared winner for Kwara North.
Sadiq had 78,015 votes to beat Issa Bawa Adamu of the PDP who got 41,443 votes, while Labour Party candidate, Moses Rebecca, polled 1,947 votes.
Returning Officer for Kwara North, Prof Oluwole Akinola, declared Sadiq as the winner for scoring the highest number of votes.
APC Kwara Central Senatorial candidate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, also won his seat.
INEC Returning officer, Prof Abdullahi Saliu Abubakar, announced the results.
Saliu Mustapha polled 109,823 votes to defeat Bolaji Abdullahi of the PDP, who had 69,202.
Ridwan Apaokagi of SDP scored 13,193, while Akanbi Farook of Labour Party had 9,280 votes. (GBN)
