Lagos, Feb. 10, 2026 – The Nigerian currency, the Naira, appreciated at the official foreign exchange market on Monday to close at 1,354.90 to the dollar.
The currency had closed at N1,363 to the dollar on Friday, appreciating by N8.10 to the dollar on Monday.
The steady appreciation of the naira against the dollar in the last two weeks had been attributed to the gradual slide of the dollar in the international market, Nigeria’s rising external reserves and monetary policy stance of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Bid rates offered by dealers in the market on Monday ranged from N1,352.50 to N1,360 to the dollar.
Meanwhile, the naira is being traded at the black market in Lagos at between N1,440 and N1,450 to the dollar.
