ARCON pays visit to Ondo State Signate and Advertisement Agency

 

Akure, Nov. 21, 2025 – The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has paid a familiarisation visit to the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo Governor on Signage and Advertisement, Yòmí Oyékàn, in Akure, Ondo State on Nov. 20, 2025

The visit formed part of ARCON’s nationwide engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration with key stakeholders in the advertising and signage ecosystem.

During the meeting, the ARCON delegation commended the proactive efforts of the Ondo State Government in sanitising the outdoor advertising space and ensuring compliance with national standards.

They highlighted that the synergy between ARCON and the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA) is crucial for promoting transparency, professionalism, and orderly development within the industry.

In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant, Yòmí Oyékàn, welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to enforcing responsible advertising practices.

He emphasised that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration prioritises aesthetics, safety, and revenue optimisation through regulated signage and outdoor advertising.

He assured ARCON of continued cooperation, noting that this partnership will help curb illegal billboards, improve industry compliance, and enhance the visual appeal of the state’s urban landscape.

Both parties agreed to deepen collaboration through capacity development, information sharing, policy alignment, and coordinated enforcement across the state.

The visit was concluded with a tour of selected signage locations to assess ongoing compliance improvements.
