Lagos, Sept 27, 2025 – The Eko Tourism Foundation (ETF) has joined the rest of the global community to celebrate the World Tourism Day 2025 with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”.
According to a statement signed by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Chairman of its Board of Trustees and Governing Board, the Foundation said the theme of this year’s celebration resonated deeply with its vision to transform Lagos into Africa’s foremost tourism destination through innovation, inclusivity and sustainability.
The Foundation described tourism as a powerful driver of growth and job creation, adding that Lagos, with its vibrant culture, festivals, nightlife, heritage and creativity, is uniquely positioned to lead Africa’s tourism renaissance.
“Through strategic initiatives such as the ETF Trust Fund, ETF Academy, Experience Lagos Project and our Annual International Conference, we are building a tourism ecosystem that is competitive globally, beneficial locally and environmentally responsible.
“On this World Tourism Day, I call on government, investors, industry players and Lagosians to partner with us.
“Together, we can make Lagos not just Nigeria’s commercial hub, but also its tourism capital, where the world comes to experience history, culture, innovation and hospitality.
“Happy World Tourism Day,” the Foundation said.
