Bauchi, Aug. 15, 2025 – Bauchi State has appointed a Chinese national, Li Zhensheng, as Economic Adviser to the state government.
Gov. Bala Mohammed announced this in Bauchi on Thursday while signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinesse firm.
He said the decision is to raise the status of the state to a hub of international cooperation, accelerate investment and facilitate industrial development.
Mohammed said the gesture was also to facilitate trade and bilateral cooperation with China.
He said the MoU provided the framework for cooperation in specific project agreements on case-by-case basis.
The governor said a Bauchi State Representative Office would be opened in China to oversee implementation and timely delivery of projects.
“This agreement is not just about infrastructure; it’s about transforming lives. We are opening Bauchi to the world,” he said.
Mohammed said the partnership aligned with the diplomatic framework signed by President Xi Jinping and President Bola Tinubu to strengthen bilateral relationship between the two countries.
