Abuja, Dec. 3, 2024 – Dr. Aminu Maida, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has been appointed to the board of the International Institute of Communications (IIC).
His appointment was announced recently.
ICC is a global organisation committed to advancing communications development across the world.
It was established in 1969 to advance the debate and understanding of regulatory policy in the increasingly converged communications industry.
ICC is a non–profit, independent global membership organisation and offers the opportunity to network with senior practitioners and debate key current issues through involvement in events, the Institute’s journal and other professional activities.
By the appointment, Maida is bringing his profound educational knowledge and experience to bear on the IIC.
Maida is well educated with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, an MEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Cambridge Judge Business School.
He has had a distinguished career in leading global organisations like the British Telecom, Cisco Systems and EE Ltd, an experience which has earned him global recognition.
Before his appointment in NCC, he was the Executive Director (Technology & Operations) in the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS).
Reacting to the appointment, Maida said: “It is an honour to serve on the Board of the International Institute of Communications (IIC).
