Lagos, Sept. 16, 2024 – A socio-political group, The Collective Movement (TCM), has hailed Mr Peter Obi, former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 General Election for saying he will be ready to work with others, provided their intentions were not centered on state capture.
High Chief Franklin Ekechukwu, the founder of TCM, described Obi’s new position as an interesting statement that would solve the economic crisis the nation is facing when elected.
He said the Atiku and Obi combination would produce a better result for the county and present Nigerians a clear choice in 2027.

Since the 2023 general elections, the country has been engulfed in myriads of economic, social, and political problems, without any clear solutions that those problems would be addressed anytime soon.
Ekechukwu spoke through a press statement by TCM’s Director of Media, Mazi Edwin Nwachukwu.
He said Obi’s new approach emphasises his commitment to partnering with those who share his vision for advancing Nigeria’s progress, indicating his willingness to put the country’s interest above his ambition.
According to the founder of TCM, Obi’s readiness not to be one of those preoccupied with 2027 while Nigerians are suffering from hunger, poverty, insecurity, and other pressing challenges, demonstrates humility and commitment to one’s love for his country and her people.
Ekechukwu said the situation in the country is fast deteriorating, leaving everyone in doubt about what the future holds.
He said with the condition given by Obi, saying that no one else met the condition, but His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, he is best qualified and suited to meet all the requirements and criteria Obi stated.
“His Excellency Atiku Abubakar is accepted across board, a national treasure, nation builder, and experienced leader.
He is a bridge across the nation and the only candidate who can unite Nigeria. He’s loved by all and a nightmare to the elite. The lion of Jada who rose from grace to greatness. Who loves his country and all people with all his heart bearing no hate toward any tribe.
“He loves education and had awarded thousands of scholarships to numerous others regardless of tribes or state of origin or religion. He is the only person who understands the difference between being poor and being rich because he had experienced both.
“So, if Mr. Obi is looking for who is best qualified, he should look no further.
“It is time we had the most formidable ticket in the history of our country. Atiku Abubakar is the solution. We urge you to stand by him to rescue Nigeria.”
Ekechukwu said with the combined force in the hearts of millions of Nigerians as a mentors and leaders who can help salvage the nation, especially the youths who look up to Obi and his Excellency Atiku Abubakar the country stand to benefit immensely.
“I would appeal to you on behalf of THE COLLECTIVE MOVEMENT not to abandon a mission you once shared just because of some narcissistic and selfish individuals who disrespected you and turned the PDP in Anambra State into a crisis, causing you to exit the party.
“TCM appeals to you to consider merging to renew the dream ticket again. The Atiku/Obi dream defeated the APC in 2019.
“Nigerians will be happy to have the Atiku/Obi dream team again in 2027.
“We strongly believe that your alliance with His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is the only force that can remove All Progressives Alliance (APC), from power in 2027, and return it to the people
“Significantly, having you as our Vice President puts our future on the clear path for a credible successor and victory in successive elections.
“Sir, you witnessed the backlash against that decision from the elite members of the party against His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, but he stood his ground.
“As you also know, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a man of principle who believes in the rule of law and a democratic Nigeria.
“He will ensure that the right person takes responsibility from him, serving with him as Vice President there is no other person Nigerians will know if not you, that by itself will secure the better future of Nigeria.
‘’We urge you, sir, to believe in the future of Nigeria and run with His Excellency to rescue the country.
“The need to rescue the country cannot be overemphasized, and having two capable hands at the helm of affairs will not hurt the country but make it better.”
The group founder noted that Obi’s recent comment is commendable as a leader, it shows he’s more interested in making a positive impact than seeking power for its own sake.
According to Ekechukwu, Obi’s comment suggests that he is open to collaboration and willing to support someone who shares his vision for a better future, for every Nigerian, and the unborn generation, who else shares same vision if not His Excellency Atiku Abubakar.
Obi maintained that he is not desperate to become president, but is determined to see Nigeria work.
He restated that he is not desperate for any position, saying “I believe I can make contributions as I am already doing without occupying any. When 2027 arrives, if I decide to run for any office, it will not be with those whose sole aim is state capture or merely winning an election.
“I want them to explain how we will ensure that no child is left behind and how we will bring millions of out-of-school children back into classrooms, ensure healthy living, and pull people out of poverty.’’
In all these conditions above there is only one man who had met and still lifting the poor and downtrodden, and that man is Atiku Abubakar. (GBN)
