Abuja, Sept 10, 2024 – The Department of State Services Service (DSS) has released Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
He was released late Monday night on administrative bail.
Omoyele Sowore, a human right activist and former presidential candidate, confirmed the release of Ajaero in a statement on his X handle on Monday midnight.
He wrote: “BREAKING: The fascist regime of @officialABAT has released the @NLCHeadquarters President Joe Ajaero from @OfficialDSSNG custody on bail,”
The NLC had threatened to shut down the country if Ajaero was not released by midnight on Monday.
The NLC gave the ultimatum in a communique it issued on Monday after an emergency meeting following the arrest of Ajaero. (GBN)
