About 45 shops were burnt down by fire at Araromi spare parts market in Ibadan on Saturday.
Rev. Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service, confirmed the incident, saying the fire started at about 2.00am.
He said his men were able to put out the fire at around 5.00am on Saturday.
“Our men were at Araromi Market Agodi Gate since 2:30 a.m. where they were putting off the fire caused by indiscriminate refuse burning,” he said.
Akinyinka said about 45 shops were affected. (GBN)
